Leonard and Penny find it less funny when they are given a coded thank-you note they have to use to unlock their WiFi. The glass shard was actually a crystal chakra wand that Raj gave as a gift to Howard and Bernadette, who then re-gifted it to Leonard and Penny, who finally passed it on as a joke. They eventually end up in the coffee shop where they first met and find a locket in the lost and found that they think must be the real gift. They decide it must be a clue to a scavenger hunt to the real gift. While opening their wedding gifts, Sheldon and Amy cannot figure out the purpose of the glass shard Leonard and Penny gave them. ET/PT, the night of the finale, following the season two finale of Young Sheldon. A retrospective, hosted by Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco, aired at 9:30 P.M. The series concluded with an hour-long finale consisting of two back-to-back episodes on May 16, 2019. This stemmed from Jim Parsons' decision to leave the series at the end of season twelve if the show were to have been renewed for a thirteenth season. Television officially announced that the twelfth season would be the series' last. In March 2017, CBS renewed the series for two additional seasons, bringing its total to twelve, and running through the 2018–19 television season.
